Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM – Sanan )

Peaceful Resistance for Sindhudesh – Continuing Bashir Khan Qureshi's Legacy

🟢 Overview

The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM – Sanan Group) is a leading faction of Sindh’s nationalist movement, upholding the ideology of G.M. Syed, founder of the Sindhudesh concept. Currently chaired by Sanan Khan Qureshi (son of martyred leader Bashir Khan Qureshi), the group advocates for Sindh’s peaceful separation from Pakistan through:

  • Democratic resistance
  • Mass mobilization
  • International advocacy

Renowned for its youth-driven momentum, JSQM (Sanan Group) maintains strong grassroots support across Sindh.

📅 Founding & Leadership

  • Original JSQM founded: 1995 (merger of Jeay Sindh factions after G.M. Syed’s death)
  • JSQM (Sanan Group) established: 2012 (following Bashir Khan Qureshi’s death)
  • Current Chairman: Sanan Khan Qureshi

After Bashir Khan Qureshi’s unexplained death in 2012, leadership passed to his son Sanan. This transition caused internal divisions, resulting in the Sanan-led faction retaining the JSQM name.

🎯 Core Objectives

  • Achieve an independent Sindhudesh through non-violent means
  • Organize protests, rallies, and freedom marches
  • Condemn enforced disappearances and human rights abuses
  • Preserve Sindhi language, culture, and historical identity

🕊️ Ideology

  • Sindhi nationalism
  • Secular democracy
  • Peaceful self-determination
  • G.M. Syed’s philosophical legacy

🔊 Key Activities

  • Annual March 23 Freedom March (Youm-e-Azadi-e-Sindh)
  • Bashir Khan Qureshi martyrdom commemorations
  • Hunger strikes against enforced disappearances
  • Youth mobilization and public awareness campaigns

🧭 Legacy

The JSQM (Sanan Group) is recognized as the torchbearer of Bashir Khan Qureshi’s vision. Under Sanan’s leadership, it remains a dominant force in Sindh’s nationalist movement, drawing large-scale participation in peaceful protests and cultural events.
